Baby's 1st Journal

I am having so much fun; using up old paper and blank coasters, getting out lots of stamps and creating different kinds of journals!

This little journal measures 4x4 and has 24 pages, 2 pages for each month of the year.

There are tags and pockets to record and store even more stories and items. Best of all, it is bound with book rings, so you can rearrange the book starting with the year your baby was born!

Nope--I'm not expecting! I'm thinking about starting an etsy shop. I just love making this little things!

Thanks for looking in today!

A Wedding Card

Wow--I think I went over board with the roses! This was my first attempt at making these paper roses. I started with two (the bigger ones), but it didn't look quite right and I remembered the rule of three. So, I made a smaller one, but it still didn't look right. So I made 2 more because wanted to stick with an odd number. So now I had a bouquet of roses on the left and it looked really heavy on that side-so one more rose for the upper right hand corner. Well, at least I got lots of practice on the rose making! Now I have to figure out how I'm going to mail this thing! Want to know how to maker paper roses? Watch Tracy Mason's wonderful tutorial here!

Happy First Day of Spring!!!
Enjoy~

Play Date Cafe 73

Another week of inspiring colors for the Play Date Cafe Challenge!

I totally strayed away from the reddish color and gravitated toward pink--hope that is ok! I used Close to My Heart's Blush, Petal and Creme Brulee and since they look so springy, I finally got out the Sensational Season stamp set and had fun with those cute little bunnies!
This first card is totally inspired by a Close to My Heart artist, Nancy Brown. You have got to check out her gorgeous cards here.
My pictures today are not the greatest--I was having a hard time getting the right lighting and angle!

Close to My Heart supplies used:
Stamp Set: March's CTMH Stamp of the Month-Sensational Season
Cardstock: Colonial White, Petal and Creme Brulee
Retired B&T paper in Blush
Inks: Creme Brulee, Petal, Cocoa, Juniper, Desert Sand
Pearl Opaques
Blending Pen
Misc. embroidery thread, Cuttlebug and Nestabilities Die

For the next card I finally used the My Dreations A-door-ables. I bought these when they first came out--and this is the first I used!

The card size is 4x4, the "door" is popped up, then the bunny is also popped with a thinner dot.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: March's CTMH Stamp of the Month - Sensational Season and Smiles
Cardstock: Creme Brulee and Colonial White
Retired B&T papers in Petal and Blush
My Creations A-door-ables
Inks: Creme Brulee, Blush, Petal, Juniper, Desert Sand, Cocoa and Black StazOn
Watercolor Pencils
My Legacy Pen
Misc: Brad and pop dots, sponge, Cuttlebug and Nestabilities Die.

That's it for today--I'm going to go vacuum, then take a bike ride and enjoy the 70 degree weather today!

Before and After

I LOVE the "How to Books" from Close to My Heart, they are so helpful in quickly putting layouts together! Often times I have more photos than the planned design calls for. This layout design is from the "Cherish" how to book and is called Portrait Collection. The original design calls for only 4 pictures --and one of those is only 3x3 in size! I liked the design of the page--nice and easy--but I had way more pictures than that! Never fear, a little playing around with photo placement, and I found a way to make it work! I liked the way it turned out! (click on pictures to see them larger)

Supplies used all from Close to My Heart:
Cherish (how to book)
Miracle Level 2 Paper Pack
Inks: Desert Sand, Twilight and White Daisy
Kraft Color-Ready Borders
My Legacy Writer Black Pens
3-D Foam Tape
Stamp set: Off the Block Alphabet (retired)

Have a great weekend!

Wings Workshop on the Go

This layout is my version of Close to My Hearts "Wings" Workshop on the Go kit. It came together so fast--well, the flowers were a bit time consuming-but I like the results! Of course I changed my layout a bit from the original, I always want to put more pictures on my layout than called for, but that is perfectly fine! Since this is a Mother's Day layout, I wanted to add the flowers. I rarely get to "do" flowers!
I highly recommend the Workshop on the Go kits, (view all of them here) they include the paper pack, embellishments, a stamp set and instructions to make a layout and cards, they are so much fun to work with.
