Time for Scrapping!

I got the mojo back for working on the scrapbook! I know people always say they are behind--well--I'm REALLY behind! My advice for people who feel overwhelmed by all the years of pictures they need to scrap is to just pick an event and do it! Don't worry about going in chronological order. If you love Halloween, and have a bunch of Halloween paper and embellishments--then go ahead and do a couple years of Halloween. If you are day-dreaming about a summer vacation while staring at the snow outside--then pull out those pictures from that summer vacation a few years ago and scrap it!

Sometimes I'll find a sketch that I like, then go through my pictures and see what I have to fit that sketch. This is one reason I joined Let's Scrap, to help me with layout inspiration on a weekly basis.

When I saw this sketch, I knew it would be good for one of the many years of sports I still needed to scrap for my son. I chose football from 2008!

I took a layout that called for eight pictures, and made it into one that displayed 15! Are you like me and take tons of pictures at your kids sports games. Then you don't want to leave any of them out of the scrapbook! This sketch was so helpful for me!

For this layout I used a paper pack (Teammate) from Close to My Heart that I had been hording forever. (so needless to say it has been retired) It was the perfect paper pack for us, because the Barn Red color in it matches our city team colors of maroon and gold. You'll be seeing this paper again in a basketball layout!

Thanks for looking in today!
Hope your day is filled with joy!

  3. Terrific advice, Lisa! Pick an event and dive right in. I couldn't agree more. I like your layout, BTW. It really tells a story! :-)
