Lucky Cows!!

Here is Load #17
Nothing really fancy--except that the strip of patterned paper and the solid green paper are probably ten years old if not older!! Both from Close To My Heart--I miss that Kentucky green color!

The title was cut with Cricut's Opposites Attract cartridge.

LOAD #16

This was a fun one! I was able to post this in three different spots on Let's Scrap. 1. For the LOAD challenge. (to find out about the LOAD Challenge, visit here.) 2. For the Scrap Your Stash Challenge and 3. Posted into the gallery for following the weekly sketch. And Guess What? The weekly sketch has a random drawing from all the entries--
AND--I--WON!!!
I'm gonna get a bunch of October Afternoon goodies!
OH HAPPY DANCE!!

I'm also entering this over on Use It Tuesday, where Tuesday's Challenge was to use two hoarded items. Well I can tell you that not one sheet of paper or brad or bling is less than two years old! Most of the paper is from Close To My Heart and there is one piece from Fancy Pants.
I've been visiting that blog for quite some time, but this is the first time I've entered anything.

The Scrap Your Stash Challenge (#32) on Let's Scrap gives you a list of items to use. When I saw the list I thought there was NO WAY I was going to put all those things together.
Here is the list:
3 patterned papers ( I ended up using 5! )
2 different washi tape
rub-ons (the lettering and the "You Rock My World" are rub-ons)
1 die cut (cricut cut the dragon flies and journaling spot)
3 eyelets/ brads/bling (used 3 brads, 3 pearls and 2 blings!)

I would never have put this many patterned papers together if it wasn't for this challenge!
I was surprised how well it came together!

LOAD help with Studio J!

It is so nice to sit down and in less than two hours have 4 two page layouts completed! That is how easy it is to use Studio J! I admit--my first love is traditional scrapbooking, but it sure is nice to turn to digital for some speedy help every once in awhile. So here we have LOADS 12-15. Check here to see about this LOAD challenge I am doing!

You can click on any image to see them larger. And PLEASE if you have any questions about Studio J, let me know. The coolest thing about it is---you can go in; upload your photos, play around, and you don't have to pay a thing unless you decide to purchase your layout!

Have a great day!

LOAD #11

Making great headway on the California album!
LOVE getting these finally done!
This layout was done with a sketch from Let's Scrap.

I used some paper I had left from the retired Pemberley pack. Do any of my Close to My Heart sisters recognize the paper that the scallop strip is cut from? Can you say OLD!! So fun to incorporate it on this layout! I also used some old, retired wooden shapes.

I've been working at an evacuation center the past three days. The devastation from the Colorado floods is so wide spread and so close to where I live. It breaks my heart. Hope to get another layout done today and take my mind off the sad stories I have heard this week.
Hope all is well in your part of the world!

LOAD 9 & 10

Hello! From flood stricken Colorado! Thank goodness, our neighborhood is situated pretty high above the Poudre River, so flooding at my house is pretty unlikely, but roads all around us are closed so it takes quite a bit of time to get from here to there.

Getting more done for the LayOut A Day Challenge I'm doing over at Let's Scrap
#9 is one for the southwest trip we took in 2008.

(please pardon the horrible photo quality here-because of the rain, I don't have natural lighting.)

#10 is another one for the California album. I'm really having fun choosing papers for these layouts. The papers used here are from Close To My Heart's winter pack a couple years ago, called Wonderland! LOL and I used them for ocean pictures!

9.13.2013

LOADs 6,7 & 8!

SO happy! While looking for paper to do my next California layout, I found a Workshop On the Go Kit, with the Lucky paper pack. The colors didn't go with the CA pictures I had, so I searched for pictures to use. I found pictures from a trip we took in 2008! I know, I'm so bad! I DO have some layouts done and in the album for this trip, but looks like I never got all them done. Maybe I take too many pictures! Yeh, that's the problem!!! So glad I hoarded it, because it is working perfect for these pictures from the southwest!

This is the layout that was given in the workshop.
So nice to have this kind of help when I'm doing a LOAD Challenge!

Not too creative here. But I didn't want to crop the pictures much--so what's a scrapper to do???!

I used the Imagine How-To book for help with this layout. The Sweet Symphony design is what I used--but of course, as with most sketches I use, it isn't exactly like the directions! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. LOVE this Lucky paper!

LOAD #4

UGH--I was doing so well the first week. I've fallen behind. oh well. At least I'm making headway on the California album!

Sorry for the blurry picture. We are finally having a rainy day, and although I love that, I don't get the great natural lighting I need for picture taking. Autumn has finally arrived here in Northern Colorado, we are finally out of the 90s!! I don't even know if it is 70 degrees today! LOVE IT!
Where Ever you are--I hope you are enjoying your day!

LOAD

I'm participating in Let's Scrap's LOAD Challenge. LOAD stands for LayOut A Day. I know you're laughing at me right now! "What??? Lisa is going to do a layout a day?" I know--right? Well--it is called a Challenge for a reason! The deal is that you just TRY to get 30 layouts done in September. I thought it would be fun to see how many I could do. I must admit, I have been on a roll. I thought I should stop and take pictures of what I have done before I move onto my next layout.

LOAD #1

Back to our 2005 California trip! Maybe I'll get this vacation totally scrapped during this challenge! This layout was done with Close To My Heart's now retired Dakota paper pack.

LOAD#2

Another one for the California album. I used CTMH's Florentine paper pack for this. Retired. I know, beautiful papers--right? If you like these papers, then you need to see what Close To My Heart has in their catalog now! I used three Flip-Flaps on this layout, where the map is.

I was so excited to get them on the layout--well the truth is, it has been so long since I have used them, that I put them ON the layout--and they should be on top of the page protector. I'll be fixing that. But I DO LOVE those Flip-Flaps, it makes it so easy to add more pictures to your layout. In this case though, I cut out information from the visitor guide to give the written history of places and things we saw.

LOAD #3

Had to throw an easy one in! Still; they are pictures that I wanted to add to the album so they needed to be scrapped. I'm not a real blingy, embellishy kind of girl so to some, this might look pretty plain.

So, three are done and I have another layout kind of plotted out, I hope to get it done today! Today is the 5th, maybe I'll get two done!

Thanks for looking in today.

Let's Scrap!

This week's sketch at Let's Scrap worked perfect for the pictures I had of pumpkin carving back in 2010!
Here is the sketch,

And here is my layout!

I love starting with a sketch and tweaking it to work with ALL the pictures I take and want to keep!

Here is the last pictures I had for "Halloween" of 2010!
The pets deserved a page of their own.
They are so cute!

The paper is last year's Halloween paper from Close To My Heart called Mischief. And I dug in my stash and used embellishments that I have had for ever! That tag is YEARS old--from a set bought from a dollar bin at Michaels. The Thickers have been hoarded for three or four years! And of course, paper flowers, buttons, and brads just seem to collect and multiply!
So happy to use up some old stuff!
Thanks for looking today!

2010-Halloween

Am I the only one who does this? I was happily creating a layout for a Scrap Your Stash challenge over at Let's Scrap when I got to thinking; that MAYBE I had already scrapped this event! Went back to look through albums, and sure enough--I had. Oh well, this one was a little different and used one picture that wasn't in the layout already done. Sheesh-----

"Off they go to get their loot.
As parents we may be biased, but aren't they cute?"
HaHa! I thought that was a pretty funny poem to put with this layout.

I hadn't scrapped the pumpkin picking outing for 2010 yet though~

WooHoo! Yay Me!!
Three layouts done in one week.
Thanks for looking in today!

Yep---I still have pictures from 2008 to scrap. In fact--I haven't even finished scrapping pictures from our trip to California---and that was in 2005! oh my. Anyway--it sure feels good to get it done, even if it is a pretty simple layout!

Thanks to Let's Scrap, I found the inspiration to get it done. I'm in a group called "Let's Scrap Our Stash" over there, and it sure does help me use items I have hoarded! This challenge called for 1 piece of cardstock, 1 piece of patterned paper, sticker letters, glimmer mist and 6 eyelets or brads. I replaced the eyelets/brads with black sequins. Just needed to add that pizzaz to the layout. AND talking about using up stash, I wasn't sure I would be able to add rub-ons to this layout, I didn't think I had anything that would go. Then I found some "Tapestry Rub-Ons" from Close To My Heart that I forgot I even had! I was thrilled to use them!
So there you have it! My first layout completed in MONTHS! Kind of boring--but isn't that one handsome boy in the pictures? THAT boy turns 15 on Saturday.
Mom's feeling a little sentimental!
Thanks for checking in today!

Three WIPs Done!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this-----I have a horrible problem with completing a one page layout for a challenge, then put it aside for "more time" to do the companion to finish the story.

The right page to this layout was done back in March for a challenge on using recycled pieces. I actually started the left hand side and had some of the patterned paper adhered to the page--then set it aside. Month's later, I go to finish it and really had no idea what my plan for the page was! I just played around with pictures and matting to figure out how to get it all to work. I've become more comfortable with just journaling anywhere on my layouts. I suppose that comes from my new interest in keeping an art journal.

The layout above was done a year ago at an all day crop, I hadn't put it in my album yet because there were more pages to complete for this trip. Looking at it a year later, I decided to add the banner across the top.

This layout was done just this last September at an all day crop. If you read my post yesterday, I ended it stating that I hoped to get back that evening to post my WIPs. Well, while working on that post, I just kept staring at the word on this layout. I thought I better double check my spelling on that strange and seldom used word. Sure enough, I had it wrong! I originally had "splunking" and it fit oh so perfectly in the space! I had a tough time pulling the stickers up and squeezing in that 'e'!

Hope you have a fantastic day--or evening--or night's sleep, depending on whatever time you are visiting!!

I'm On a Roll!

Saturday was a cold and cloudy day, and it was wonderful! I got another layout done and worked on finishing up some WIPs. (Work In Progress)!

I joined a group on Let's Scrap called "Let's Scrap Our Stash". Perfect for me, because I have so much stuff! For this challenge we were to use:
4 pieces of patterned paper
3 pieces of colored card stock
4 die cuts
12 brads, eyelets or bling
Also you need to use one of the Let's Scrap sketches.
I chose this sketch:

And I am so happy to get a layout done from our Fall Drive in 2009!

I used 5 different pieces of patterned paper. It is hard to tell but the paper for the tree trunks are actually cut from patterned paper. I used 5 pieces of colored card stock. All the cuts were done on the Cricut. I had never used that tree cut before and I love it! The leaves, two pieces for the title and the banner triangles are all from Close To My Heart's Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. And-I used 13 brads. Bonus on this layout, was the use of those letter stickers of which I don't even know how long I have had them!
Got to go fix dinner now, but hope to be back to post some of those finished WIPs!
♥ Lisa

Baseball 2009

With help from Let's Scrap, I completed another layout! This sketch was perfect to get a whole season of baseball into one layout!

I like the way it turned out. Got to apologize for this horrible looking picture though.
You know the story----
I NEED a new camera!

Thanks for stopping by today.

10.02.2012

Woot Woot----

I've finished a layout!
I was inspired by this sketch over at Let's Scrap.

I liked the way this sketch used vertical and horizontal pictures across both pages, with the middle photo cut at the center of the layout.

Of course, when I went to find photos to scrap--what I chose didn't have any vertical photos! AND as always --I had more than the number of pictures shown in the sketch.

Even though mine doesn't look like the sketch, you can see I was inspired with the overlapping of photos, and cutting the pictures in the center. That little trick really helped me get more pictures on this layout! So--mine is pretty plain, but it sure does feel good getting a layout done. This goes with a layout I did back in January! See it here. The title and journaling are on that layout, so I didn't put anything here.

I went to an all day crop on September 22. I just have some finishing touches on those layouts, hopefully I will get them posted soon.
Thanks so much for looking in today.

June Challenge

What?? It is June already? So hard for me to believe.

With the new month comes a new Challenge over at Scrap It Girl.
The June Challenge is, "Punches, Punches, Punches".
Get out your punches and create a layout, tag, card or 3D item with them.
I don't own a whole bunch of punches, but had fun coming up with a layout
using three different shapes.

A one inch square, one inch circle and a scallop punch were used in this layout. I have a few border punches which I originally thought I would use but didn't.
Don't forget to link up your layout on Scrap It Girl for the Challenge,
here is the awesome prize this month.

Thanks so much for looking in today.
Hope the rest of your day is fabulous!
Cheers.

NSD Challenge #7

Well--I didn't get my last two Frosted Design challenges posted in time. The cut off was midnight on Monday--but I didn't look to find out midnight where? LOL Oh well, that is ok, I'm just having fun getting layouts done in a fast way!

This one was Jennifer's Recipe Challenge. I loved what she wrote for her guidelines:

begin with1 piece of patterned paper as your recipe base
add some texture and character to your recipe with some distressing of any kind
add in 2 piece's of cardstock for good measure
everybody loves something sweet, add 1-2 photo's
add a secret ingredient (hidden journaling)
no need to measure just grab a handful of flowers to taste and toss them onto your recipe
spice it up with a little bling
stir in your choice(s) of lace, ribbon or a doilie or 2
before serving, top it off with a special title to make your creation extra memorable
let it set, and serve on our Frosted Designs blog in the correct challenge link up!!

It's prettier in-real-life (IRL). I had trouble taking a picture that made the paper flowers show better.

I spent awhile trying to figure out how to make a sliding piece that would stop and not come out all the way, then I remembered that CTMH's
Magic- Interactive Scrapbook Program had instructions on how to do it.
I just love the little bobble I have for the tab of the hidden journaling, it is from Close To My Heart's Heirloom Assortment. I'll cut a slit in the page protector and have the tab sticking out.

Ok--so not the most exciting hidden journaling, but it was getting late, and I was hoping to get the layout entered for the challenge. I may go back and put something different.
The glittery leaves, hearts and "love" sticker are things I have had in my stash for years!
Now I hope to complete some of the challenges for Scrapbook and Cards Today, their challenges aren't due until midnight Thursday.
This time I'm going to find out what time zone that midnight is!
Thank you for surfing through today!
Hope your day is a beautiful one.

NSD Challenge #6

This one is for Debbie's Pattern Paper Challenge on Frosted Designs. Use only pattern paper, no cardstock allowed!
It's hard to tell, but the base page IS a pattern paper--I even tried to take a close-up, but it still didn't show. There are three different pattern papers in this layout.
I am now done with Easter 2009!

NSD Challenge #5

Thank goodness some of the NSD challenges gave you a few days to get things done!

This one is for one of Frosted Designs challenges. In this challenge you were to use strips of paper in your layout. Since I had the Easter 2009 pictures out for the last challenge, I continued with the same papers and more Easter pictures.

I got brave and used my own lettering for part of the title!
It feels so good to actually be doing some layouts!
Let's see if I can get another one done.
Thanks for stopping by today.

NSD Challenge #4

I really got to go spend time with the family!
This challenge is for Big Picture Classes Challenge #10.
In this challenge we were to use any cast-off object on a layout--to upcycle.

Funny story here. I've saved a Kleenex box for awhile now because I liked the design on it so much, I thought I would find a good use for it. When I saw this challenge, I went to look for that box and guess what I found? Easter candy that I had bought and couldn't remember where I had hidden! LOL--please tell me I'm not the only person who does this! But oh boy--finding chocolate when you think there is none in the house makes me very happy! I immediately unwrap the little chocolate bunny, pop it into my mouth and admire the cute picture on the bright colored foil---and an idea pops into my head!

Why not use this for the challenge!

PageMaps helped me put together this layout.

OK--I think I'm done for the day!
Thanks for looking in.
