Let's Scrap!

This week's sketch at Let's Scrap worked perfect for the pictures I had of pumpkin carving back in 2010!

 I love starting with a sketch and tweaking it to work with ALL the pictures I take and want to keep!

The pets deserved a page of their own.

They are so cute!

The paper is last year's Halloween paper from Close To My Heart called Mischief. And I dug in my stash and used embellishments that I have had for ever! That tag is YEARS old--from a set bought from a dollar bin at Michaels. The Thickers have been hoarded for three or four years! And of course, paper flowers, buttons, and brads just seem to collect and multiply!

So happy to use up some old stuff!

2010-Halloween

Am I the only one who does this? I was happily creating a layout for a Scrap Your Stash challenge over at Let's Scrap when I got to thinking; that MAYBE I had already scrapped this event! Went back to look through albums, and sure enough--I had. Oh well, this one was a little different and used one picture that wasn't in the layout already done. Sheesh-----

HaHa! I thought that was a pretty funny poem to put with this layout.

I hadn't scrapped the pumpkin picking outing for 2010 yet though~

Potion Bottles

I've been having fun making some Halloween decorations. 

I've been saving all sorts of glass bottles just for this project. I spray painted most of them black. On some of the bottles I glittered the inside of the jar.  To do this, cover the inside of the jar completely with watered down Elmer's glue, pour glitter in and shake it around. Fun!! I got my labels from The Graphics Fairy. An AWESOME website. She has tons of things to download--all free!

The label border and skeleton, above, came from Graphics Fairy, but I created the name for this potion! ☺  Click on image to see so you can read it!

Boy to Zombie

Still haven’t gotten the camera fixed yet, so these pictures are taken with the old camera—that takes horrible pictures inside; blurry and yellow. BUT I just had to share my sweet boy being transformed! I had fun applying makeup!

I had to get a hair band to pull back his hair.

A foundation of white.

After applying black, green and blood, he starts to get into character!

Mojo Monday #158

Every once in awhile I feel the need to try a sketch on the Mojo Monday blog and here is this weeks attempt! I tried to do the box pleat technique, and my "pleats"are not even--so I stuck a little skull on them! I used:
from Close to My Heart: Hooligans Level 1 Paper Pack, Black card stock and the ribbon is from the Mini-Medley Accents Collection-in the new Sunset color. Inks used were Key Lime and Autumn Terracota markers and the VersaMark inkpad was used for the embossing powder. The embossing powder is non-ctmh that I have had around forever and is a sparkly black. The stamp set used was September's Stamp of the Month called "Thriller".

Halloween Blog Hop

This is my first blog hop to participate in! Tresa Black made it so easy I just had to try it! Thank you Tresa! Visit Tresa's blog to see lots of FABULOUS artwork and to find out more about this cool blog hop tool she found!
I made this a couple years ago--but I just love getting it out when I do the Halloween decorations, it makes me smile! I have to give credit to Hilary Kanwischer, she inspired me way back when I made it. It is made with a cute little picket fence that you can get at the craft stores, I found this in the unfinished wood section. I painted chipboard, distressed it and stamped on it. The pumpkin, spider and bat are cut out and glued on. The letters are Dimensional Elements (z1048--wahhh--soon to be retired) that I spounged, and stamped with flourishes. CTMH has lots of cute ghost, spidery stuff and pumpkins to choose from to do this project.
